BREAK IT UP BEFORE IT BREAK YOU DOWN

TOPIC: BREAK IT UP BEFORE IT BREAK YOU DOWN
TEXT:  PROVERB 29:1, ROMANS 6:1, HEBREW 10:30-31

The devil has no good thought for the prayer warriors and intercessors because they are always standing against his programs and antics.  And as a result he has introduced, little sins that were also described as the little foxes in songs of Solomon 2:15, in order to destroy the prayer warriors and intercessor in a long run. Sin is not automatic; it comes gradually from a little sin to a big sin 1 Corinthians 5:6. A prayer warrior or intercessor who indulges into little sin will soon be broken down by it, by the time the sin has fully grown.  We should learn from Samson who could not break the love of women up until Delilah break him down Judges 14:1-2; 16:1,4. So break it up before it breaks you down.

For a better understanding of this message, we shall consider the following sub-headings:

POINT 1: THINGS TO BREAK UP OUTLINED

The things to break up are the little sin that will later lead to the actual sin, if not broken up on time. Sins like fornication, abortion, going to prostitute house, involving in theft, backsliding e.t.c.
Below are the things we should break up from before it breaks him down;
Break up from lust Matthew 5:28
Break up from watching pornographic picture Job 31:1
Break up that ungodly relationship 1 Corinthians 5:9-11
Break up that closeness to the opposite sex
Break up that habit  of masturbation
Break up that worldly friendship James 4:4
Break up from the romancing and touching opposite sex 1Corinthians 7:1
Break up from  that old boyfriend or girlfriend
Break up from anger James 1:20
Break up from lying Matthew 5:37, Proverb 21:6.
Break up from envy and covetousness Proverb 14:30; 27:4
Break up from gossiping and backbiting Proverb 21:23
Break up form malice and hatred 1 John 3:15
Looking at the above, do not say it doesn’t matter, there is a common saying that goes thus: “ the serpent you failed to kill in Genesis will grow to a dragon in revelation” so be warned.

POINT 2: THE END PRODUCT OF SIN AND WARNING

Every little sin surely has an end product James 1:14-15 and the end product is always full of regret, bitterness, and grieve of heart. Judas Iscariot was a thief and full of covetousness John 12:4-6. He never breaks covetousness up, until covetousness breaks him down and did the worst, by selling the master Matthew 26:14-16. Looking at the examples of Samson and Judas Iscariot above, we should be warned and disengage from the little foxes that spoil the vine. So what is that little sin that is bedeviling you, break it up, before it breaks you down! Proverb 29:1
