TOPIC: THE ROAD TO HEAVEN

ISAIAH 35:8-10, MATTHEW 7:13-15, LUKE 13:24, ACT 14:22
For you to start a
journey you must know the road that leads to it. Failing to know the road, will
cause you harm because you would not be able to get to your destination. In our
contemporary society, you can find such dilemma in the life of so many youths;
they embarked on life’s journey without foreknowledge of where it will lead
them. A lot of youth has followed a wrong path that leads to destruction, they
call it a way of life, without taking into considering the consequences of such
decision Matthew 7:13-14, Proverbs 14:12, Proverbs 16:25.
God’s way is not
your way and your way can not be His way. He has made a road to heaven which
cannot accommodate obnoxious lifestyle. The road to heaven is a way of
righteousness Matthew 10:33, 37-39.
For more benefit
of this message, we shall consider the following sub-headings:
POINT 1: THE ROAD TO HEAVEN EXPLAINED AND REASONS
The road to heaven
is not the road to your school, office, home and village. What we are literally,
saying is the road to the kingdom of God. A place where God lives and dwells, a
carefree youth cannot enter therein. It requires a holy life style to make it
there, because it is not made for unprepared soul. But for those who are
qualified, and possess the qualities it takes to be there. The Bible say’s “straight
is the gate and narrow is the way, which leads unto life and few there be that
finds it” Matthew 7:14. The desire of every youth is to be in heaven,
but unfortunately not everyone will be there; because it is a place of
righteousness and holiness. It is only
made for the saint and the redeem people who have been washed in the blood of
the lamb and have the testimony of Christ Isaiah 35:8-10. No “sinner” will be there, i.e. the fornicators,
smokers, fighters, robbers, cultist, liars, drunkards, haters, 419, scammers and
all unrighteous people will not inherit God’s kingdom. “except” they repent and turn away from their evil and wicked ways;
and surround their entire life to Christ and go ahead to “maintain purity, righteousness,
holiness” and live a “consecrated life style unto God” Genesis 17:1,
John 12:25-26, Isaiah 35:8-10.
POINT 2: OUR EXCEPTED RESPONSE AND BENEFIT
Having seen that
the road to heaven is a way of purity and righteousness, it is evident only
those that are saved from their sins will be there. Those who have their names
written in the lamb’s book of life are the ones who will make heaven. All you
have to do “Now” is to surrender to Christ totally, and forsake your old
lifestyles; it’s a personal decision, ignore any external influence from
friends or those seated around you or with you 2Corinthians 6:2. You have to strive to enter in Luke 13:24. It is a fight you have to
fight now, even in this programme. God is waiting for you to repent from your sins Isaiah 1:18-19, Matthew 11:28-30.
Furthermore, for
those who have been saved from their sins already, you should endeavor to
maintain “purity and righteousness”. Do not allow what you are passing through,
i.e. trials, persecutions, temptations or the flashy things of this world to
make you lose focus of the road to heaven. Strive to enter in, stand firm for Christ
and be determined to make heaven at last
