TOPIC:
ORGANIZED PLANNING
TEXT:
PROVERBS 16:3, 9, 24:27, ECCLESIASTES 3:1, LUKE 14:28
It is a fact that
when one fails to plain automatically, he/she though indirectly has planned to
fail. Nothing gets accomplished without a well thought out plan. People that
are successful in life didn’t achieve success in an arbitrary random manner.
Success to a large extent is a product of organized planning.
WHAT IS ORGANIZED PLANNING? PROVERB 21:5
To organize is
means to arrange something in a particular manner or order. A plan is a set of
intended actions through which one expects or hopes to achieve a set goal. So, an organized planning is defined as a set
of intended actions arranged in their order of importance for the achievement
of a particular goal.
In other words;
organized planning is a list of things you must do in their order of importance
in order to achieve something. It is having your plan in an orderly manner.
For example, let
say an undergraduate student of a particular university has a goal to graduate
with first class, there are things this student must do in order to achieve
this goal. Things like serious studying, doing assignment, attending lectures,
asking questions, making research etc. All these actions will greatly
contribute to the achievement of his or her goal.
NB: Beyond having plans, organized planning
brings into consideration all the compartments of your life (spiritual,
financial, academics, marital, health, physical, etc) and how they are
interwoven in your plans along any aspect of your life, whereby your calculated
action in one direction imparts every aspect of your life positively, such that
no area of your life suffers because of the other.
IMPORTANCE & BENEFIT OF ORGANIZED PLANNING:
Proverb
15:22,1 4:8
Everything man
creates or acquires begins in the form of Desire. That desire is taken of the
first lap of its journey, from the abstract to the concrete, into the workshop
of the imagination (mind), where plans for its transition are created and
organized. Organize planning therefore
is a principal the vehicle that brings dreams to reality if well orchestrated and
followed. It can be regarded as the foundation for success in any field. And
foundation is fundamental to the success and longevity of any venture. A house without foundation is doomed to fail.
It has no future; so, a life or organization that lacks an organized plan has
no future. That’s how important organized planning is (Psalm 11:3, Matthew
7:24-27).
Organized planning
is crucial to the outcome of your life. Remember, without an organized plan,
you will only be wishing or dreaming without the manifestation of your lofty
desires. It provides a platform for “pricing” i.e helps you see how any of your
plans in one direction can impact outcomes in the other. Like a system, your
life commands clarity, precision, order, efficiency, effectiveness and optimal
output. Every area of your life is disciplined in relation to the plan. Below
are some of the benefits of organized planning:
1.
Organized
planning empowers you to be in charge of your life and situation. It empowers
you to produce results.
2.
It
brings about growth and development. When there is an organized plan, there is
order and order brings about growth, progress and development Act 6:1-7.
3.
It
reduces or eliminates complete wastage of life and resources (time, money,
resources energy etc). You know what to
do any point in time, when you are organized (1 Corinthians 6:12).
4.
It
helps you to save time by identifying what is profitable from what is not. It
helps to engage your time productive activities as it relates to your goal Eph.
5:16.
5.
It
helps you to be focus. When you are disorganized you suffer many distractions.
It is people with well defined plan that makes the most of their lives and are
focused in life Matthew 6:22-23, Philippians 3:13.
6.
It
eliminates hate, desperation or panic. When you are organized, it puts you in
what to do at any point, there by putting you in command of responses
7.
It
establishes your life. Just like foundation establishes a house, that how
organized plan established your life Matthew 7:24-27.
YOUR LIFE AND HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR PLAN
FOR SUCCESS?
PROVERB 6: 6-8
You are an entity with many
compartments and your needs come with phases and stages of life, for this
reason you must harmonize your goals in all the various aspect of your life
(spiritual, physical, ministry material, financial, academics, material health
etc). Sometimes, our desires in one of the compartment may clash with the
reality in another e.g an apprentice who
was recently settled by his master, who is meant to establish his own business,
begins to think or plan for marriage, at the same time wants to go back to
school and because of zeal wants to go into full time ministry. This scenario
is tantamount to confusion and lack of organization. He may have brilliant
plans for each but bring all to the table at once without navigating effect of
each on the other can be tagged as foolishness, thus, the need for an organized
plan.
The most
intelligent man living cannot succeed in accumulating money, succeeding in any
other undertaking without plans which are practical and workable; keep this
fact in mind and remember when your plans fail, that temporary defeat is not
permanent failure. It may only mean that your plans have not been sound. Build
other plans, start all over again.
I.
Clarify
and be Concise: you must have a goal or goals. In every area life, spiritually,
academically, financially, socially, career and business wise, health wise,
martially etc. you must have something you want to achieve. Be clear on what you want in each of the
above mentioned area of your life. So, write down what you want to achieve in
all department of your life. What do you
want to achieve in your spiritual life? Health? Career? Business, academic,
finance? Write them down.
II.
Strategy
& Goal Mapping: This is where you bring all your goals in view SMART
(specific, measurable, attainable, relevance and time-bound), setting them in
order of priority and dividing them by time – frame (short-time and long-time),
III.
Organize:
Arrange your action plans in all the things you have written down in number 2,
that you must do to achieve your goals, arrange them in their order of
importance. That is, which action should come first, second, third, fourth,
fifth and so on
IV.
Execute
your plan; act on the things you have written down to do it and in order to
achieve your goal. Without action on your plans, your goals will never see the
light of the day. Only actions produce results.
V.
Review
your progress: Go back to check for consistency, alignment and re-adjust where
necessary.
