LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING

Text: Proverbs 3:4-6 says, “So shall thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Memory verse: Psalm 121:1-2

Life is spiritual and so it is the spiritual that controls the physical. The things that happen on earth have their origin from the realm of the spirit whether good or evil. It is ignorance of spiritual things that lead many to believe that luck determines what happens to people.
The Lord our God is a spirit and so they that worship Him must do so in spirit. This explains why a carnal man cannot understand the things of God because they are foolishness unto Him.
In everything we do in life, we must depend on God for guidance, direction, strength, wisdom etc. it will be foolhardy to trust in your strength, ability and knowledge. Every true believer must be spiritual all the time and connect to God in times of need through prayer and supplication. Can a wrestler, wrestle with a spirit even if he is the strongest man on earth? Can you fight the devil and demons with gun and cutlass? It is absolute impossible because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

Given the above fact, put aside your intelligence, degrees, positions, financials muscle and humble yourself before God and he will direct your paths.
Moreover whatever we have is the gift of God for kingdom use not for self gratification and wordly pleasure. We must always bear in mind that when this world shall pass away, it shall carry with it all those who love and cherish it.
When you operate on the tripod stand of God the father, God the son and God the Holy Ghost, you will surely overcome.
There is a popular adage which says that if a man wakes up before God, he will run and be consumed by exhaustion, so we all need God in every area of our life. Let us surrender our understanding to Him and His glory will be made manifest in our lives.

Pray and ask God for the grace to overcome the flesh
Pray for divine help to be spiritual all the time.
