WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE OF HEART?

TEXT: Daniel 1:8 says, "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he will not defile himself with the portion of the King's meat, nor with the wine which he drank : therefore he requested the Prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself."
MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 17:9

The victory of every battle is always fought and won in the heart before it manifests. At times you hear people say, "I made up my mind to do this or that and I achieved it." The mind has to be made up first. If a man is defeated in the heart, forget it. Such a man cannot achieve anything. That is why people fail in business, career or even ministry.

In our text above, Daniel purposed in his heart not to defy himself with the King's meat or wine. After the day appointed by the King, the 4 Hebrew children were tested and they were found to be ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers in Babylon. Brethren, the victory of these four boys was won the very day they made up their mind not to defile themselves and this manifested physically after the appointed days. Through this devotional today, I want you to make up your mind in whatever you want to do. In the service of God, make up your mind and believe you will make it in serving God righteously. Some people will say 'no' man can be holy or righteous but only God. And so, because of this misconception, you see such people wallowing in sin and iniquity. You can never get such people to be born-again. The same goes to those in business education or other endeavors. Those who believe and trust what God of Chosen are always giving testimonies but those who came for trial and error will be here for many years, yet without anything because of the purpose of their heart. That is why our memory verse for today says, " The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Only God knows the heart of every man and rewards the man according to the purpose of his heart. I counsel you through this devotional today to maintain a righteous heart before God. That is only when God will give you victory., as he gave the four Hebrew boys in Daniel 1:20

Prayer Points:

*Pray for a rightful and purposeful heart before God.
*Pray that you will face every endeavour expecting to be victorious at the end.
