YOU CAN GO BEYOND WHERE YOU ARE
Text: Isaiah 17:17, 20-21 "And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethen an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp of thy brethren; verse 20-21 and David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle. For Isreal and the philistines had put the battle in array, army against army."
Memory verse: Eph 3:20
David's Journey to the throne began with this move. His father sent him on an errand - to go to the battlefront and see his brother who were at war with the philistains. His father, Jesse, asked him to take some refreshment items for his brothers and for the commander of the people under king saul. David's obedience led him to another level in his destiny. The battlefront afforded him the opportunity to demonstrate the power of God in him which enabled him to challenge Goliath, confronted him and killed him. Thus David secured major victory for Isreal and that marked a turning point in his life.
When people are given an assignment, they grumble and argue. Some fail to carry out such assignments not knowing that every assignment you carry out is an opportunity for you to move to the next level of your destiny.
Another lesson to learn from this is that you can go beyond where you are now. Look at David - a keeper of sheep in the bush. When the father sent him on the errand, David handed over the sheep to their servant. He did not argue that there was nobody to look after the flock. So, learn to take the required initiative when necessary.
From the bush to the throne is the story of David. I do not know your level in society, in your place of work, in business, in knowledge, in skill acquisition in Christianity. But I want you to know you can go beyond where you are. If you are in the "bush" of life, you can go out of it and move to the "city" of life. Always aim to be on the throne, that is at the top. Except you do so, you may not get there. It is when you have a dream (that is vision) and you apply your faith to the dream, that you can make it to the top.
So, if it is in academics, work hard. If it is employment, acquire more and updated knowledge and skill. If you are in business, be creative find a better way of doing the business, go beyond where you are now. In your christian life improve in your knowledge on the word; pray effectively and more regularly, live a holy and righteous life and do not fail to serve the Lord with your substance, wisdom and time etc.
