3) BOOK / JOTTER

TOPIC: HAVING DOMINION OVER SIN
TEXT: ROMANS 6:1-18.
It is expected of every Christian Youth to live a life without sin because Christ has given us victory at the cross of Calvary, Jn. 19:30 and also His seed remaineth in us, this is why we cannot sin against Him or allow sin to have dominion over us, 1Jn. 3:8-10. Also, we should know that he who is born of God cannot commit sin. No matter what may come your way in school, in the office, market place and in our environs, we are expected not to allow sin to rule over us. No matter the angle it may be coming from, be it from our parents, guardians, teachers, masters etc, we are to dominate over sin, Gen. 39; 9-12, Dan. 1:4-8
For better understanding of the message, we shall consider the following point

THE REASONS EXPLAINED
The Almighty God, the God of chosen is a Holy being.  He dwells and lives in holiness and righteousness, 1Pet. 1:15-16. His ways are the ways of holiness and He expects everyone to worship Him in the beauty of His holiness, Isa. 35:8-10, Jn. 4:24. God does not work with sinners because in Him there is no sin, 1Pet. 2:22. Christ died on the cross for man’s freedom and victory over sin, Jn. 19:30, Jn. 8:32. His grace is sufficient and His strength is perfect in weakness, 2Cor. 12:9. He is available to help and deliver Christian youth in time of temptation, persecution and trials, Jude 24, Rev. 3:10. He has given us His word, ways and will to guide every Christian youth when the tempter comes, Ps. 119:11. He has also given us a PASTOR who is to lead us aright and to tell us the mind of Christ and His standard, Jere. 3:15. No Chosen Youth should have a reason why sin should dominate over him or her because all that enable one to serve God in purity and holiness without compromise is in the Lord’s Chosen. The grace, power, presence of God and sound teachings are in the ministry Even the three fold vision of the church serve as a source of strength for us to stand for Christ.

OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND EXAMPLES
This time, Christ is counting on you to stand for Him wherever you may be found and to live a victorious Christian life, have dominion and subdue sin under your feet. You are not to allow sin have power over you, Rom. 6:1-2. You should not say this or that is your weakness because Christ has given you victory and freedom over sin, Jn. 8:32, 2Cor. 5:17, 1Jn. 3:9. We are to stand upright and maintain righteousness on every side because you have gotten the power to live above sin and have dominion over it. Examples abound of people who lived above sin in their days.
Joseph: Gen. 39:;19-12;
Daniel : Dan. 1:8;
Enoch: 5:21-24.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, 1Pet. 2:21-23

Finally, for sinners and backsliders, they should turn to the Lord for repentance and forgiveness, Jn. 3:3; 1:12, 2Cor. 5:17, Rom. 10:13.
