GOD IS ON OUR SIDE

Text: Psalm 124:1-6 says, “ if it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Isreal say, if it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.”

Brethren, the Lord has always been on our side. You may be passing through some ugly situation and you think that God has forsaken you. I want to let you know that God has not forsaken you. You may have suffered to the extent that you are like Jacob in Genesis 28:11, who was using stones as his pillow. When things are so hard for a man that he used stone to do pillow, then, that suffering is terrible.
However, in the midst of that suffering or persecution, God still showed him that He was with him and Jacob confessed in verse 16 “…surely Lord is in this place and I knew it not.” The suffering or persecution you are going through may have closed your eyes not to see that God is in that place you are and if God is there, there must be a way out of that persecution or suffering. What you are passing through cannot be compared with what the psalmist passed through, yet he recognized that fact that if not the Lord on their side, when men rose up, they (men) would have swallowed them up according to our text above. Do you know that today, many things are there, waiting to swallow you up- evil personality, witch, wizard, satan and his agents, poverty, sickness, afflictions, etc and so if not the Lord on your side, these things would have swallowed you up. Thank God, He has not given you as a prey to their teeth.
Because there is still hope for you. Remember Job, Jabaz, blind Bartimeaus, the ten lepers, the woman with the issue of blood, the man at the pool of Bethsaida for 38 years. Etc. all these people waited until their change came and that is why they are written in the Bible as examples to you. Therefore, if they could wait, I want you to wait too because God is on your side. You are not a Chosen by accident but by divine providence. Cheer up God is on your side.

Prayer point:
Pray, because God is on your side, that ugly situation will not swallow you up.
Pray that God will frustrate every wicked man/woman, power, agent etc that has come out against you. Se
