PREPARING MULTIPURPOSE LIQUID SOAP.

PREPARING MULTIPURPOSE LIQUID SOAP.




CHEMICALS NEEDED AND FUNCTIONS.

1. NATROSOL....This is the primary thickener and the main chemical in preparing liquid soap.
2. SLS(sodium Laurel Sulphate)....This is foam booster.
3. CAUSTIC SODA.... helps to remove stains.
4. TEXAPON....Helps thicken the soap and it is also a foam agent.
5. SULPHURNIC ACID....This is the main foaming agent that cleanses. It also help to dissolve texapon.
6. STTP....A color retainer and also a thickener.
7. SODA ASH.... It raises the acidity of water and also a booster.
8. GLYCERIN....Refreshes the hands and prevent dryness after washing.
9. COLOUR....Beautifies the product.
10. FRAGRANCE....Gives a nice smell to the product.
11. PRESERVATIVES.....This keeps the soap in good and usable condition over a long period of time.

ITEMS NEEDED IN PRODUCTION.

1. One big bowl or plastic drum.
2. 2 turning sticks ( big and medium size)
3. Measuring cup
4. A pair of hand gloves
5. Nose mask
6. 2 napkins
7. 3 small/ medium size bowls or buckets.

PRODUCTION OF 25-30 LITRES OF LIQUID SOAP.
1. 1/2 kg.   - Natrosol
2. 1& 1/2litres --- Sulphurnic Acid
3.1/2 kg. ---- Texapon
4. 1/2kg. ----- Soda Ash
5. 3-4 teaspoonful of caustic Soda
6. 1/4 kg.       STTP
7.1/4 kg.    SLS
8. 1/4 litre.   Glycerin
9. 1/8 litre.     Perfumes
10. Color
11. 2. Capful of preservatives
12. Enough water form production.

PRODUCTION STEPS:



-  Dissolve the Caustics Soda with a litre of water in one of the small bowls and keep aside.
-  Dissolve Soda Ash and STTP in another bowl with three liter of water. Keep aside.
-  Pour 12 liters of water into the big bowl or drum and empty the natrosol into the water while stirring with the big turning stick for about 10 minutes until the powder is fully dissolved.
-   Then Pour the SLS and continue to stir for about 20 minutes or until the SLS is totally dissolved without any trace of a grain
-   If production becomes thick at this stage, add some water before proceeding to the next step.
-   Add the Caustic soda solution and continue to stir for another few minutes.
-   Add texapon at this stage and turn very well for a about 5 minutes to avoid forming of seeds.
-   Pour the sulphurnic acid and continue to mix until you notice a fine transparent liquid soap.
-   Add the STTP and Soda ash solution into the production and continue to turn until a well blended soap is achieved. Add more water as required, if too thick.
-   Add perfume, color and preservatives one after the other and turn.
-   Set your production aside for some hours to allow the foam settled down before packaging.


QUALITIES EXPECTED FROM A GOOD LIQUID SOAP.

1. Your soap is expected to foam very well.
2. It must have a sweet fragrance.
3. The colour must be appealing.
4. Must be durable.
5. Must not cause any form of irritation to the skin..

PRECAUTIONS AND SAFETY DURING PRODUCTION.

1. Wear rubber gloves
2. Use nose mask
3. Carryout production in a well-ventilated environment with good illumination.
4. In case of chemical splash to the face or delicate part of the body, wash very well with plenty water and see a physician as soon as you can.
5. Keep all chemicals out of reach of children.
6. Never taste any chemical with the tongue.
7. Wear your apron or other protective clothing before you commence production.
8. Most importantly, use your head. Don’t play with chemicals please.

  2. Thanks so much for this....can i make the soap without texapon since i have sls....and pls which of these chemicals can i increase the quantity for the soap to form better
