WISE COUNSEL FOR THE YOUTHS.

TOPIC: WISE COUNSEL FOR THE YOUTH.

TEXT: PROVERBS 1:10-33.
Life is like a journey that leads to our desired destination. A child learns gradually. He learns his surroundings, his home and at school. His thoughts and learning depend on what he learns and sees around him. So, wisdom implies that " Listening will help us to succeed and failure to listen will make us fail".

SEGMENTS TO ELABORATE
SEG. 1: WARNING AGAINST EVIL FELLOWSHIP.
Warning is necessary because it helps us to avoid danger, Psalm 119:101. The warning of our leaders and elders is preserved, protect and promote us. We must give attention to scriptural warnings. Proverbs 13:20,  Ephesians 5:11, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. Youth usually face temptation and enticement to sin. In most cases, it comes from classmate, neighbor and also from peer group tempting us to do evil. These young tempters take pleasure in sinning but, God has given us the power to resist any temptation that comes on our way, Genesis 39:7;  Ephesians 5:11. We should not join them in doing evil. Proverbs 1:10; Exodus 23:2.

SEG. 2: WORDS OF WISDOM FOR FOOLS.
            Wisdom speaks as if it were a person. The Bible says " it crieth", Proverbs 1:20. The fools have been warned to desist from evil and wisdom is personified. God gave man the wisdom that an animal does not have. Wisdom counsels that;
* We must not love or delight in foolishness, Proverbs 9:4-6
* We must not hate knowledge, Proverbs 1:22.
* We are not to despise corrections, reproof and rebuke, Proverbs 1:23
If only we can repent, Ezekiel 18:31-32, God has promised to pour out His spirit (The spirit of wisdom) upon us. Isaiah 15:17-18.

SEG. 3: PUNISHMENT FOR THE FOOLISH
All fools who reject words of wisdom will pay for their foolishness. The fools are
*Those who refuse words of wisdom, Proverbs 1:24
* Those who Set at naughty the counsel of wisdom, Proverbs1:25
* Those who hate knowledge, Proverbs 1:29.
* Those who despise the reproof of wisdom, Proverbs 1:30
* Those who turn away from the truth, Proverbs 1:32
All who refuse to follow Christ and remain with the foolish will be punished. God will not answer their prayers, Proverbs 15:29 except they repent and turn to the Lord, Isaiah 65:2, Psalm 66:18.
