Good Success Comes From The Lord
TEXT:Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Read - Psalm 1:2
All that glithers is not gold. Most times when people see a man riding costly cars or living in a beautiful house or mansion, they quickly conclude that the man is successful. By their judgment, they feel that the man is enjoying life. Moreover, some men have many children and by mere seeing the man that has the children, you think that all is well with him but you will not know that the man is suffering hypertension because of his children. There is no peace in his house. In fact, some children are the architects of their fathers or mothers death, but an outsider would think that all is well with such family . Any success or blessing that does not have its root in God is not a good Success or blessing. Proverbs 10:22 says, "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it" . Some people blessing or success is full of sorrows. Outsiders might be seeing them as well to-do, but if they tell you what they are passing through, you would marvel. Why? Because they misuse God from their so-called success or blessing. God knows that all success are not good success and so he told Joshua in our text to make sure that this book of the law (Bible) did not depart from his mouth but shall meditate on it day and night and observe and do according to all that is written in it, for it is only then he would be prosperous and have good success.
Any success outside the will of God is not good success, so beware because some of you are in the church but are secretly desiring to be like that man outside there that his riches or success are not from God. If it is possible for you to hear from that man, what he is passing through, you will not like to go through it. Be contented with what God has giving you as a child of God. He know and desires the best for you.
