ARE YOU ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL?

TEXT: Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." Read: Mark 8:38

Many people are Christians or claim to be so but they are not bold enough to profess their faith publicly. They are complacent with just going to church and then going home, that's all, the commandment of God in Mark 16:15 which says "... go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." is not for them, why? This is because they are not genuine Christians (born again) or they are ashamed. But let me ask you, why would a child of God be ashamed of the gospel? Your heavenly father is the president-general of the whole universe and sits on His throne forever, so why are you ashamed? The apostles of old were not ashamed of the gospel. You came to Christ because somebody preached to you, now that you have come to Christ, it is your duty to bring others to Christ through your preaching. Our text in Romans 10:16(b) says "... for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..." The gospel is the power of God. For you to manifest the power, it is through preaching the gospel. You cannot be asking God for power without preaching the gospel. Where do you want to get the power from? The memory verse for today says, "whosoever, therefore, shall be ashamed of me and of my words ... of him also shall the son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with His holy angels." Brethren, it is dangerous for you to be ashamed of the gospel. Therefore, from today discard every shame and begin to preach the gospel against all odds.

Prayer Points:
*Command destruction over every spirit of shame in preaching the gospel.
*Pray for holiness because holiness makes for boldness.
