SET NO EVIL BEFORE YOUR EYES

Text: Psalm 101:3 “I will set no evil thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”

Being spiritually alert all the time is what every believer of Christ should not ignore. We are living in a world where the devil has painted evil good and appealing to weak Christians. The fact is that so many Christians commit sin through their eyes. How? They pollute their spiritual life through what they see, view or watch.
Let us not forget that sin starts building up in the mind through mainly what the eyes see. And so we are not permitted to watch ungodly T.V programmes, videos, films. It is also an abomination for us to read romantic novels, magazines or pornography articles. As Chosen members, it is a sacrilege for us to go to cinemas, dancing halls or to beaches where unbridled immorality takes place.

You might be saying, “Well, does it matter?” it’s just entertainment, it is not a big deal and that is why our memory verse says that the light of the body is the eyes. As you watch this evil programmes through your phones, ipad, ipod or any other device, they will set your imagination aflame, shape your desire and thought towards committing evil especially immorality and worldliness.
If you love watching musicals, home or foreign videos or other ungodly programmes, you are gradually leaving the narrow way to the way of death and eternal shame, so amend your ways.
Let us therefore select what we read, watch or view in line with the word of God. you must understand that whatever you call entertainment whether on the radio, T.V or magazine and newspapers does not have the support of Jesus Christ whom you claim is your master, so be wise before it is too late.
