WHERE THERE IS NO VISION...

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil." (Proverbs 3:5-7)

Our text today outlines the usefulness of having a vision in life. It says where there is no vision the people perish. That is to say, that where they are not able to fashion out a way to survive, they shall be doomed. Having a vision is to set/have a target and how to achieve it. However, because of the limitation of human knowledge to set an enduring target, the word of God helps us to set our visions right.

First, if you do not have any relationship with God, it simply means you have no vision. If you have a vision that is not tied to God, it also means that your vision is not an enduring one. For your vision to be purposeful, it must be tied to God because He is the only one that can direct your paths. Do not lean on your own understanding.

Psalm 119:104-105 states, "Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Therefore, the word of God is a lamp unto your feet and lightens your path, without which you fall into a ditch. So, it is important to have in mind that without God supporting your every move, you can achieve nothing. (John 15:4-5)

What is it that you are looking for in life? First, have vision of heaven (Matthew 6:33). Reconcile with God and commit all your ways and programs into His hands. He shall direct your paths and see you through such that no matter the captivity of the enemy over your life, He will grant you freedom.
