TOPIC: GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND PORTION

TEXT: PSALM 142:5-7; 46:1-3; 23:1-6

Every youth {believer} should know this fact that the Lord is our portion and refuge and as a result, we should have less worry and anxiety about the challenges and the situation of this present world. In the absence of this knowledge, such believer will be helpless and begin to manifest faithlessness and may end up in destruction

Hosea 4:6. We should understand that the Lord is our portion and refuge in the land of the living. We have a father

who cares for us and supplies all our needs. There is no need to panic nor worry. Our God have power to do all things Matt. 7:11. What God cannot do, no one can do it for us. Today, no matter what we need, the Lord will do it for us. The eyes of the Lord is upon us. God will defend us, deliver us and provide all our needs 1 Pet. 3:13,12. He will defeat all our enemies and give us victory. If God can take care of the unbelievers and sinners, He will much more take care of you Matt. 6:30-33. If there is no way for you, today, God will make ways for you and grant you your desires in Jesus name.

We shall consider the following sub-headings for better understanding of the message.

THE REASONS, CONSIDERATION AND OUR CONFIDENCE

Once we are born again and have become sons and daughters of the Living God, the creator of the earth from whom all things came into existence. What do we lack if we depend on Him Exo. 17:5; Ps. 24:1; 115:16; 23:1-6 The Lord will lay a table for you in the presence of your enemy. If you can rely on Him nothing shall be impossible for you. He that have God have all things. The Lord is making it clear that; HE IS YOUR REFUGE. Our consideration should be when we have God we have all things. He is the owner of all things. We have all things as long as we are with Him. He has all the power Ps. 62:11. He is not in lack of power to defeat our enemies. Our victory is guaranteed in Him. We shall not be afraid of anything. Get God because, with Him we have all things. He will feed, bless, prosper and guide you. You are going home with testimony

So, we shall not behave like unbelievers and sinner who are far from God who think all they have is by their power. We should continue to behold the power of God and should be satisfy with Him like the Psalmist and those before us. He will continue to fight for us and bless us. 

Our confidence is that the Lord is our refuge and portion in the land of the living Ps. 26:1-6; Rom. 8:31 and we shall not lack anything. No matter the fierce battle against us nor who is involved, the Lord will give us victor and supply all our needs in Jesus Name Phil. 4:19

OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE, APPLICATION AND BENEFITS

Hence, we should cease from worry, anxiety, struggle and should rather put our hope on God like the Psalmist. God made the pillar of cloud to protect and guide the children of Israel to the Promised and, He gave them Angel's Food and gave them water from the rock, He fought for them, dried River Jordan and they were not in want of anything. He raised up a brazen serpent to heal them in the Wilderness when they were bitten by snakes. Now we have Jesus. He is not a brazen serpent but a symbol of love, as you look on Him, you shall be saved and delivered from all our challenges and sorrows of the heart. You shall see your sorrows no more for the Lord turns Sorrow to Joy. Look at the problem that prevailed in your life for the last time.

All things belong to us Lk. 15:31. We shall go home with miracles Matt. 6:30-33. If God cares for the field of the garden and the birds of the earth. HE WILL CARE MUCH MORE FOR YOU. This great God will bless, fight for you, defend and help you. We must stop to worry over the things of this world. We should have great faith in the Lord and we shall have nothing to worry about anymore 1 Pet. 5:7; Ps. 23:1. We should ask and not struggle Matt. 7:7. We should depend on Him and fear not Jn. 14:13.
