THE OLD-MAN NATURE MUST GIVE WAY

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them." (Ezekiel 36:26-27) Read: 2 Corinthians 5:17,  1 Thessalonians 4:3

today discusses God's willingness to give His people a new heart and put a new spirit in him. Why will God take such step? The bible responds that the presence of a new spirit will cause man to walk in God's statutes, keep His judgments and do them instead of following rebellious ways.

No man can serve God with the old-man nature because the old-man nature is contaminated with sin. God knows this very clearly and has therefore, opted to give us a new heart which will enable us to worship Him in Spirit and in truth and then qualify us for heaven.

The bible says, "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature "By becoming a new creature, the old ways of doing things give way to a new way in Christ. It means that the old ways of lying, cheating, stealing, fighting, quarreling and so on, will pave the way for righteousness and godliness. 

Therefore, shedding the old-man nature is crucial for our freedom from the captivity of the devil.

What is the old-man nature that is still manifesting in your life even as you profess to be a born-again child of God? 

You must shed this old nature to pave the way for a new nature in Christ. All you need do now is to ask God to release this new Spirit into your heart and cause you to have the mind of Christ.

It is only at this point that you can have the enablement to obey the commandments of God. It is only then that your prayer will become an divine freedom. effectual prayer of a righteous person and you will be a partaker of God's
